My hobby is "modifying" subtitles. By modify, I change when I think it's necessary an English subtitle to read like American English rather than the direct Japanese or Chinese translation.
Simple example "Continue" I change to read "Keep going" or maybe "Don't stop"
Many times I also add words to make the subtitle more meaningful. I "put words" in the actors mouth.

I have, literally, hundreds and hundreds of projects that I've modified. Far too often I don't finish them before I move on to another that caught my evil eye, but I do have a good number of completed projects.
