- Dr. Love reviews her notes for her next client. Then, there is a knock on the door. "Come in."
Kenzie: "Hi, guys. Welcome!"
Corra: "I'm Corra."
Nick: "I'm Nick."
"You guys want to have a seat?"
The StepSiblings sit down.
"I'm going to be your therapist today. So, like I said, my name is Kenzie. I have been a therapist for a couple of years now. I focus on younger adults like your age. Tell me a little bit about you guys."
Corra starts: "Well, I don't do too much. I like to play video games and softball in a local women's team, so I often go outside. Hiking is fun, too. Stuff like that. And I like riding horses."
"Love that. Love horses."
Kenzie turns her head towards Nick. "Are you a big video game person, too?"
"Yeah, but I also like playing a lot of basketball."
"Okay."
"Lately, I haven't been doing too much, though."
"No?"
"I've just been sleeping a lot."
"So, do you guys play video games together?"
"Yeah, sometimes."
"How would you describe your relationship?"
"She's my best friend."
"Aw, how sweet."
"I spend a lot of time with my brother. He is a perfect gentleman, and I trust him completely."
"Your parents were saying that you guys like to do everything together. You like going outside, playing video games, and sleeping together in the same bed."
"Yeah. It's like having a best friend that's living in your house. We are having fun and do whatever."
"You know, we go to the same school; we're in many of the same classes."
"I know. That's why your dad called and said we needed to discuss a few things."
They talk about the reason they are here. Both StepSiblings are puzzled why Corra's real dad would call Dr. Love.
Kenzie: "Your dad is concerned that something is going on. Maybe a little bit too much hand-holding, a little too much hugs, looks, smiles, in-jokes, or whatever. He couldn't pinpoint it, but I think he is concerned about you, Corra. Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Yes, I did, but I kept it from my dad."
"Ah, I see. Maybe your dad thinks both of you spend too much time together."
Corra answers: "I don't feel like it. I wish my dad would have said something if that is the case."
"Well, can I be honest in here?" Nick asks.
"Yeah, this is a safe space. I would love it if you were honest with me."
"Corra had problems sleeping at some point - stress at school and stress with her StepMom. And I discovered that if she fell asleep on my chest, she would be better in the morning. She would still wake up at 5 am, but cuddling with her helped."
"That's true."
"I think her father saw us cuddling or my hands on her naked breasts."
"How so?"
"Corra sleeps topless most of the time, and when she has a bad dream, I hug her in the middle of the night. We both like to spoon the and I ..." Nick's voice trails off. "And one time, she put my hand on her breast."
"I did?"
"Yes. Not because of sex or erotic feelings. You wanted to be hugged and held tightly in my arms. And even though I touched Corra's breast, there was no discomfort on her part." - Reviews:
